Exploration is a first stage in geothermal power plant development. Naturally, this stage has a high risks especially related to finding the geothermal resources. This will be more challenging if the geothermal prospect area has complexity in geological setting, located in a remote area, rough and steep terrain.
Muara Laboh is one example of a success story of exploration which has been carried out by Supreme Energy.The exploration start from 2008 and successfully COD on December 2019 producing 85 MW of electric energy.
It is not easy to develop a geothermal field, since there are many aspects that must be considered. But the long journey of exploration to production activities done by Supreme Energy on Muara Laboh can be used as an example and lesson learned for geothermal development in other area.
