NewQuest Soon to Complete 3G Survey at WKP Simbolon Samosir

Currently, NewQuest Geotechnology Survey Team is conducting a 3G survey at Simbolon Samosir Geothermal Working Area ( WKP ) in North Sumatera province for KS Orka. This survey begins in early July and will be completed by the end of August. Overall, services provided include 3G Surveys, Resources Assessment, and Well Targeting with detail Scope of Works as below:

• Remote Sensing Analysis
• Reprocessing and 3-D Modeling of Existing MT Data
• Geological Mapping and Rock Analysis
• Geochemical Sampling and Water/Gas/Isotope Analysis
• Geophysical Survey: Gravity and MT
• Conceptual Modeling and Resources Assessment
• Well Targeting

The Simbolon Samosir WKP was established in 2016 with an area of 168,800 Ha, covering six districts, namely Samosir Regency, Toba Samosir Regency, North Tapanuli Regency, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, and Dairi Regency. This WKP is very likely to become the 4th production WKP in Sumatra Province after Sibayak Sinabung, Sarulla, and Sorik Marapi. Assignment of BUMN (SOEs), PSPE, and Government Drilling are among programs of the Indonesian government to accelerate the development and utilization of geothermal energy for power generation. NewQuest has been trusted by PLN Pusat to conduct Pre Feasibility Study as preparation for exploration drilling on its 3 WKP assignments, namely Atadei, Songa Wayua, and Tangkuban Perahu, while Simbolon Samosir is NewQuest’s second job in the PSPE area after Hamiding on year 2018. NewQuest is also ready to support the Government Drilling program.
