NQ Academy Webinar #2: MT vs Drilling
After the success of the inaugural webinar with Prof. Hochstein, NQ Academy will organize the 2nd NQ Academy Webinar with theme “MT vs Drilling: Valuable Experience from Geothermal Exploration in Indonesia”. The webinar will be scheduled on October 24th, 2020 using the zoom platform and will present a speaker, Dr. Yunus Daud (Founder of NewQuest Geotechnology).
This topic is very interesting, because it will discuss experiences and lessons learned about the application of MT technology in geothermal exploration. Many geothermal fields have been drilled on the basis of MT technology guidance. MT can be used to define top of high temperature reservoir, delineate geometry of reservoir and determine well target zones. However, MT technology must be used carefully and properly. Otherwise, it will lead to target drilling errors. As the second largest geothermal power producer, Indonesia has a lot of experience in drilling activities, both successful and unsuccessful. This nation must be able to take many lessons from the “MT vs Drilling” journey in order to be successful in the upcoming drilling campaign.
Dr. Yunus will share about NewQuest Geotechnology’s exploration experience in several fields and how the drilling results prove the justification of MT data.
